Our History

In 1962, my mother and father purchased our business from the Snyder Brothers Plumbing, located in Downingtown, a company where my father had been employed for over 15 years. The name was changed to F.H, Swisher and Plumbing & Heating. In 1973 after completing college for business administration, I joined my father in the business with the name being changed to F.H Swisher & Son, Plumbing & Heating. On April 1, 1991, my brother Jeff retired from school teaching, moved in from Ohio and to over the bookkeeping aspect of our business. My mother and father officially retired and in respect of their hard work over the years, we renamed our business F.H. Swisher Plumbing &Heating Co. On July 31, 2017 my brother Jeff retired and I became sole owner of F.H. Swisher Plumbing & Heating Co LLC. We’re celebrating our 61st year in business.

We currently staff 9 employees with 5 service vehicles on the road consisting of 5 plumbing technicians and 1 apprentice, whit an office support team of 3. Our employees have a combined total of over 150 years with our company. As you can see we have no turnover of employees. Three of our employees have over 30 years’ service with us.

Our Pennsylvania State Home Improvement Contractor number is PA133102. Effective July 1 2009 all contractors performing residential work within the within the state of Pennsylvania are required to be registered with the Pennsylvania State Attorney General’s Office. All contractors should be willing to provide you a copy of their registration if requested. We also take great pride in being an A+ accredited business through the Better Business Bureau, an achievement not obtained by many businesses. Another honor we received was that of winning the best plumbing contractor by the Daily Local New readers poll for 2016 and 2017.

You always can be guaranteed when calling our office; you talk to a “real person”.Even during our evening and weekend hour we have an answering service taking calls with service technicians on call. We are always available to answer any of your questions. If I am not in the office when you call, you can be assured I will contact before the end of the day. Our employees

We are fortunate to have the most dedicated employees to be found anywhere. Some have been with our company over 30 years. We have no turnover of employees and many of our customers have a long time relationship with them and specifically ask for an individual technician to respond to their residence. All our on the road employees are licensed to work in all municipalities where our main plumbing license is held.
